Alabama vs. Georgia

Here is yet another reason the SEC is the best football conference in the nation. The SEC currently has four teams in the top 10 in the nation (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU). Auburn just recently dropped out of the top 10 after losing to LSU. That means that for a time we had 5 teams that were considered top in the nation.

I know, I know. You are saying so does the Big 12. They have a lot of good teams also. However we must look at the past. The SEC has consistently had more teams ranked than any other conference. I dare say that were USC or Ohio State in the SEC they would routinely be beaten by bigger and better squads.

In the SEC, we beat up on ourselves. Not only does an SEC team have to be flashy and win, they have to do it against some of the best defenses in the nation. And this week is no different. Alabama (ranked 8) goes to Athens to play Georgia (ranked 3). This will be a battle of the titans to say the least.

Just wait though. Whoever loses this game will be shunned by the rest of the country as unworthy of a top 10 position. WHY? If Alabama loses to Georgia shouldn't they stay in the top ten. After all, Georgia is supposed to be 5 spots better than Alabama according to the idiots who make up the polls. We'll see. Just ask Ohio State what happens when teams from other conferences have to play in the SEC!
