This is the result of a freak hail storm at our house on one Sunday afternoon. I was working on the laptop in my daughters room one afternoon, and all of the sudden it got extremely dark outside. Then the wind picked up tremendous speed. Out of the corner of my eye I saw something hit the ground. When I looked it was a ball of hail about the size of a golf ball. It was followed by about 2 billion more of its cousins. The storm got so bad that my wife and I took the children down stair to our "safe place". The noise was so intense that we had to yell at each other inside to hear hear ourselves talking. When it was done, I went out on the deck and scrapped up a handful of hail. The weirdest part was the steam. When it was over, the hail started to melt and all this steam covered the ground about three feet up. It was truly strange. Oh, by-the-way, it punched 30-40 holes in the side of my house and broke the side view mirror on my truck. All told, it caused about $8000 worth of damage on my house. My entire roof as well as one side of the siding and all the gutter have to be replaced. Thank heavens for homeowners insurance!

Dude, that is horrible! When did that happen?
About two years ago I was coming home from school. A hail storm had just come through the area. It covered the entire ground and made driving difficult. I thought for an instant that I had missed the Rapture! I called Kim on the cell and realized that either she had also missed the Rapture or everything was OK. Sorry to hear about your home.
