The Brotherhood of Assassins (our completely harmless but mean sounding paintball club) hosted its first ever paintball tournament on April 26. It was a resounding success with 5 teams and over 40 people participating. We had players from all age group (6th graders through 40+ year old men) participating in the tournament.
Everyone was able to participate in at least 7 games, and a few teams played 9 or more. The prize money was split between Team Catastrophy and the team from Argo due to bad weather. We ended the day with a 40 person battle that got interesting to say the least.
Part of what made the tournament such a success was the sportsmanship displayed by the players. No one got in fights. No one cheated (that I know of). No one left with hurt feelings. In our book that makes everything worth it. Especially impressive to me was the sportsmanship displayed by the team from Argo. These guys have been in paintball for a while and obviously know what they are doing. They answered all of the questions the kids threw at them about equipment and guns, and helped the kids learn a lot about the sport of paintball. The brotherhood would like to say thanks for the great play and attitudes. We sincerely hope to play with these guys again soon.
If you are interested in getting involved in paintball, please contact me or Coach Howard and we will hook you up. If you can not get us, talk to one of the kids who play with us. We can direct you to the next play dates we are going to have and where you can sign up to play. Thanks again to everyone involved. I can't wait until the next time.
